We often hear that in order to improve our life we should envision ourselves in the perfect scenario. See ourselves doing what we love. Paint a picture of where we want to be to draw that into our life. What we’re not told is how that actually works... Why does it happen for some and not others?
The simple answer is that it has little to do with some magical force that suddenly appears into our lives and more to do with motivation and effort.
Think about it. How much effort are you going to put forth if you don’t believe it will do any good? … Right. Not much.
Research tells us that motivation comes by little successes. If you set a plan to do something every day towards your vision and do those little steps, the more you will be able to see how your vision may actually come to pass. The stronger your confidence in succeeding will become and the stronger your drive to do more towards the goal.
You will begin to believe it is possible.
So, what is your vision? What is your plan? There are 365 days in a year. What could be 365 small steps that you do each day, even if it is for 15-30 minutes a day to get you closer to your vision?
Yep, I bet there is something you could do right now by just cutting out some social media time.
Set a timer. Spend 30 minutes start planning. Whether it is research for a business you want to start, an outline for a book, brainstorming with a friend, or making a list of who to network with. All visions start with someone taking one step and then continuing to walk.
What are you waiting for? This could be your week. One vision and seven things closer to it by next Monday. What do you want to look back on this week and see?
You can only start where you are. Not where you want to be… Start today. Shape your vision. Be determined. Believe you can with every step then take a step.
