Here’s a little saying to ponder this week:
“It’s not good or bad or right or wrong. It’s what you make of it in your mind and in the world”. ~DrVic
It’s very rare that the mind is not in judgement-mode, especially with SELF. We come up with all sorts of scenarios even when they are not actually happening in the moment. Some of us need that predictive measure more than others as protection and control. Sometimes because of a troubled past and sometimes it’s by simple preference. Regardless, it can prevent us from realizing potential in ourselves and limiting what we believe is possible. But it doesn’t have to be that complicated. Everything doesn’t have to have a deeper meaning. Sometimes it just has to work and be effective in the here-and-now.
How does that work? By focusing on what is important to you. Both short-term and long-term ones. Is what you are doing this week, in this moment, working for you and towards what you want or not? It’s something you can question continuously. Not only in what you are doing but how you are perceiving things in your mind.
This week why not take the limits off. Try to catch yourself in judgement-mode and see if there are other possibilities. Other ways of perceiving the situation, the person. Finding the proverbial open window when a door closes.
Why? The minute your mind uses judgement words it’s a neurological dead-end in the mind. You must be willing to turn around or carve out a new path intentionally to get beyond where you are. In your mind and in the world.
I hope you have a good week and that you find ways to be creative to meet your goals.
It doesn’t have to be complicated.
